Happy Halloween!

I typically try to stay very positive in my writing about entertaining but I have to admit that I’ve never been big on Halloween. I don’t mean to imply that I’m joining the fun police or anything but it just hasn’t really been my thing. Growning up, my parents always saw it as a dark and dangerous night and the school we attended limited our costume selections to characters from the Bible.

I do see where the fun comes in though! My children love to dress up in costumes and their personalities really shine through in their costume selections and candy hunting!

My current take on Halloween is a fun family dinner that doesn’t skimp on style or quality. In lieu of a costume, I put on fancy black pajamas or a dress with an elegant halloween headband or hairpiece. If I was forced to dress up in a costume, I think I would go with something like this. You can shop my favorite looks by clicking here.

When it comes to the table, I like to play with my black, white and silver pieces. I skip ghoulish and gross but I do love these incredible creature eye ball lollipops stuck in a little floral arrangement. Add loads of candlelight and maybe some gourds to a silver tureen and you are setting the tone that is just right for friends and family.

Are you ready for some Spooktacular celebrations?  Let us help you put a look together that will delight and fright your friends and family.  Black, white and touches of orange always do the trick when you are looking for a treat at the table.  I’ve also included one of my favorite autumn punch recipes from the pages of Parties Around a Punch Bowl as well as a few fashion finds that I love for a great Halloween celebration.

I’ve always left the cute Halloween dress-up to the little ones. Chic pajamas for handing out candy or a black dress for a spooky celebration are more my style.
