Gourds and Ghosts
The temperatures are finally cooling off a little bit in Texas and we decided it was time to start piling the pumpkins and gourds and mums around our front door. This year, when I saw the amazing prices at Trader Joe’s on all of their pumpkins, I decided to buy more than I usually do and let the children do the arrangements! I think I’ll steal a moment when they are back in school tomorrow to tweak a few things but, in the meantime, the pumpkins will stay exactly where they thought they should go!
Millie was flipping through Martha Stewart Living with me earlier in the week and she saw their little feature on adding eyes to plants and fireplaces for a spooky touch. Of course, Martha’s team suggested painting avocado pits and more natural items, but we took the easy route and bought 4″ eye balls at the craft store!
Using floral tape, we attached floral wire to the back and simply inserted them into the front of the plant. It will be easy to take them in and out while watering!
