Five Healthy Choices
I love Kimber Westphall’s new column for D Magazine about Five Healthy Choices so I was thrilled when she asked me to share a few of mine! I’m always striving to make healthier choices, especially in front of my children, and sitting down to answer her questions was a great reminder for me to continue to strive to be at my best. I’d love to know what you do in a day that helps you stay healthy! Please leave your comments here or on my social media so that we can all lift each other up and learn from each other. Here a few more of my favorite tips that didn’t make the D Magazine article:
-I love to buy a new workout topor sweatshirt or tennis shoes – a little something to help motivate me to get my rear moving!
-Find a healthy fave that you can stock at home and keep them at the front of the fridge or pantry. I’ve noticed that when I keep a big blue and white bowl full of oranges on my kitchen counter, I will grab one one instead of a package of junk food. I always grab for my favorite green juice from Whole Foods when I have it in the refrigerator in front of the high-calorie juices and Lemonades that my son loves.
-Try a food delivery service before a special event or a vacation. I tried Sakara last year for the first time and I loved it! I ordered it for weeks after the first time I used it because I was thrilled with the results and really liked the food.
-I put sunscreen on every single day – religiously! I hope you do too! I also try to keep a hat with me at all times. We are outside so much for our son’s baseball games, walking the dog, and on and on so I try to stay covered up. This is my favorite sunscreen and a few of my favorite sun hats:
-And remember that reducing stress by showing gratitude is really important! A thank you note doesn’t need to be for a gift. You could send a note to a host who entertained you, a friend who listened to you, or a teacher who took extra time to help your child out. Write a note to someone really is a wonderful way to start your day and receiving one will brighten anyone’s day. Here are a few of my favorite stationary pics that you can use to send thank you notes out on!
Fun! Great idea!
1. Think of 5 things for which I’m grateful before getting out of bed or turning on my phone.
2. Talk & listen to God.
3. Bounce on my mini trampoline before showering.
4. Have bone broth for breakfast.
5. Do my best to avoid eating sugar and unrefined processed foods.
What are your favorite green juices from Whole Foods to have on hand?

I keep the “Green Lemonade” in my fridge! It lasts a while and is so delicious!
