Twenty Four Days of Tablescapes – Day 20

Today’s tablescape started with this vivid Savannah Gardens Cloth by Matouk.  I was inspired the saturated color and scalloped edge to layer all sorts of bold colors on top.  My antique Rose Medallion Charger plates were topped with another antique set of white and pink and dinner plates and some vintage floral salad plates.  I have two sets of six different types of floral salad plates so, when I set for 12 and want this look, I mix them!  Take a look at the alternating designs!

Interesting candles and simples roses fill the center of the table but I really wanted all eyes on the layered plates. I also used the silver that my mother gave us as a wedding gift and my favorite Royal Goblets by Moser.

I’ll have a beautiful collection of antique Rose Medallion tableware coming to ShopKSW.com in the New Year!  Stay tuned!

I am not familiar with placing the silverware “upside down”. Is there a story or is it a custom somewhere? LOVE the plates!

Great question! These are the pieces that my mother-in-law handed down to Justin and I when we were married. They are by a French company called Puiforcat. In France, they are often made to be placed upside down and these are monogrammed on the back side so that they show when set. xo

Thanks for that info! Not sure where my mothers’ silver is from but I will be looking at it ASAP!
