Sister’s First with Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager
I was honored to be asked to host a “conversation” with former First Daughters Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager on Sunday at The Bush Center to celebrate the release of their new children’s book, Sister’s First. The stories they share are so heartwarming and encouraging and the afternoon made me want to hug my family extra tight this holiday season. Barbara and Jenna spoke to the audience, which included their parents, President and Mrs. George W Bush, and we laughed, cried and reminisced together. We took questions from the audience in the last fifteen minutes that were so thoughtful and really hilarious too! If you get a bit of time to watch the video, make sure you catch those! The highlight for me was the advice for raising teenagers that President Bush shared in his introduction. He said that he told his teenage girls:
“I love you. There is nothing you can do to make me not love you so STOP TRYING!”
