At Home With Kim: Our Dining Room

Our dining room is one of my favorite rooms in our house.  When we were house hunting, I kept insisting on finding a dining room I could put a round table in.  We ended up moving a few walls around to help me accomplish my goal but I am so happy with the room.  The Gracie wallpaper just “made it” and was well worth the wait!

Here is a view of the same room staged by our designer, Jan Showers, for an Elle Decor ad for her collection.  It is obviously on the home page of her beautiful website as well.

The back wall has two doors that are papered just like the walls so that they are not a distraction.
Isn’t it fun to see it both ways?  It makes me want to mix things up a bit!

OH….p.s. for all of you tabletop addicts:  I love the way my Herend Rust Bouquet China picks up the orange-y glass in the chandelier.

I am also crazy crazy crazy inspired by my friend Lela Rose’s amazing “dinner theatre” dining room set up in her Tribeca apartment.  Check it out in this Daily Candy video.    Here is a great blog post about her home.

Have you seen these pretty images of the White House public rooms?  I love the dining room!
